Episode 22 kicks into gear with Nick challenging Rick to a round of Family Feud. Rick then goes on to share his recent experience at his gym doing a circuit rehab challenge, including cryotherapy, infrared, compression, BEMAR, and a salt room/halotherapy experience. 

Dr. Rick takes over the blog this week, reading and leading a discussion of “Diversity Workout.” The guys talk about the importance of not allowing politics and division get in the way of treating others with kindness and respect. 

In the “Building the Brochure” segment, Dr. Nick and Dr. Rick continue their investigation into the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets. This week, the guys tackle Assets #25 – Bonding to School, and #26 – Young person places a high value on helping other people. Nick shares some interesting perspectives on the importance of kids connecting to their schools from an administrator’s perspective and Dr. Rick has some thoughts on the double-edged nature of “pride.” Both guys share a bit about how they try to instill the value of helping others with their kids.

The Every Rose has Its Thorn segment focuses on the pluses and minuses of “comics.” Rick gets things started and takes a “comics-strip” approach. He mentions Archie comics, Calvin & Hobbes, and The Far Side as his all-time fave’s. Nick goes with Peanuts, Cathy and appreciates The Far Side as well. Nick then takes a “comics-book” perspective, recommemding The Swamp Thing, Superman, and Kingdom Come. Neither seems to be a fan of Heathcliff, but prefer the far superior Garfield.

The last segment finds the guys digging back into the mailbag to respond to more fan questions. Nick and Rick respond to a question from Kent who asks about the most challenging time of the school year. Nick has some comprehensive thoughts on this while Rick identifies Spring Break to the end of the year as the most difficult. Then, one of Dr. Rick’s former students writes in to ask for a reminder in regards to self-disclosure. Lastly and more lighthearted, Tommy from Alabama asks the guys their grilling preferences.
